Anderson Cooper: "It's hard to talk when you're teabagging, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Let me guess, Drudge had this up on his website in bold, red font?

Fox does what it does well, which is present the conservative point of view and provide news in a way that makes conservatives happy. MSNBC rose to third primarily by being the anti-Fox. So what is CNN? I really don't think they tell the stories of the day very well.
That said, I'm not sure exactly why this has conservatives all pumped up. Yes, Fox gets better ratings than its competitors but less than a million watch Fox each night. It's significant but, like Limbaugh's ratings, it's bigger than the others but just a slice of the whole. Maybe if CNN showed more sports, more babes, or had SpongeBob deliver the news.
So what is CNN?
They report the news.
What a concept.
Unfortunately most people don't seem to want to think for themselves anymore, hence the ratings.

I've watched a lot of CNN. As far as pure news reporting goes, I feel I'm better off with the random offerings of C-Span. I wish they were committed to serious news reporting, but I don't think they are.

They do provide an invaluable service by fact-checking SNL, however. I hear they're working on a big expose that will reveal the land shark is actually a hoax.
